An invitation to share your experience

Your perspective
shapes what's next.

The Insight Series brings together senior practitioners navigating the future of work — in conversation with Unlock Potential. Thoughtful exchanges that become research, reflection and practical guidance for organisations and individuals alike.

Why these conversations matter

"The most valuable insight rarely lives in survey data. It lives in the moment a thoughtful practitioner says what they actually think."

Organisations are navigating a profound shift in how expertise is structured, accessed and valued. The rise of fractional leadership, portfolio careers and independent practice is reshaping the human capital market faster than most institutions can track.

The Insight Series exists to document that shift from the inside — through the voices of the people living it. Each conversation becomes part of an ongoing body of evidence that informs how Unlock Potential works with organisations and individuals.

What the conversation looks like
01 —

A genuine exchange, not an interview

45–60 minutes normally online, with some framing questions sent in advance. We're interested in your honest experience of modern life and work — what's working, what isn't, and what you wish someone had told you.

02 —

Thoroughly prepared, so you don't have to be

We'll have read your work and background before we speak. The conversation should feel informed and purposeful — but largely unscripted. Your job is simply to show up and think out loud.

03 —

A content brief, delivered to you

After the conversation, you receive a curated brief: your key insights, suggested content angles, and our editorial read of what your thinking revealed. A practical package that enhances your own thought leadership.

04 —

Your voice in our published research

Your perspective may inform our quarterly Insights reports, published to our network of organisational leaders and practitioners. All contributions are attributed with your approval.

Making the most of the conversation on camera

A few simple adjustments that make a significant difference — for this conversation and every professional video call you'll have.

☀️

Face a window, don't sit in front of one

Natural front-facing light is the simplest upgrade you can make. A window behind you creates a silhouette; a window in front creates presence.

👁

Camera at eye level

Laptop cameras sit too low. A stack of books, a monitor arm, anything that raises the lens to eye height — the effect on how you read on screen is immediate.

🎙

Audio over video, always

Poor audio undermines credibility faster than a plain background. Wired earbuds are a minimum. A dedicated microphone is the most valuable investment for your professional brand.

🧱

A considered background

You don't need a styled bookshelf. You need intention. A clean, uncluttered background — even a plain wall — signals that you take the conversation seriously.

🤫

Control your environment

Close the door, silence your phone, let anyone nearby know. Riverside records separate audio tracks — any background noise in your environment will persist through every clip and quote from the session.
